My name is Hiroaki Furukawa. I'm a colored pencil artist.
I now live in Tokyo Japan. My original way of drawing, is to make layers of
several materials such as highlighter, pastel as background, and complete the work by colored pencil.
The reason I came up to this way of drawing, is first of all,I started to learn art
by oil painting and this way is an application of it.
For more further reason, is because I got under influence of the colorful
surroundingsfrom USA life where I stayed and grew up when I was small.
I hope that drawing Japan and USA's everyday scenery through bright colors,
staining from the inside, will make a picture which people can rely their feelings on.

Born in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
Stays at State of Michigan and New Jersey of USA, while in elementary school.
Since belonging to the Art club of the highschool, I started art.
Graduates Rikkyo University English Department - Comparative literature and Ideology Course.
Shows artworks and DVD at Design Festa Gallery.
Shows artworks at Tokyo Big Site Design Festa.
Holds first solo exhibition"My Favorite Things" at Gekkoso Art Shop in Ginza, Tokyo.
- Three works accepted at the "Gekkoso Moonlight Contest 2010".
- Takes part in the group exhibition "Hitoiki Koubou ten" at Gallery K in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
Holds second solo exhibition"Moonlight Serenade" at Gekkoso Art Shop in Ginza, Tokyo.
Five works accepted at the "Gekkoso Moonlight Contest 2011".
Holds thematic exhibition "The town of Sawara, drawn with colored pencil, by Hiroaki Furukawa" at Sawara Machinami Kouryukan in Chiba Prefecture.
Holds fourth solo exhibition"Twilight Symphony" at Gekkoso Art Shop in Ginza, Tokyo.
Teaches as an instructor of colored pencil at Gekkoso Art Shop's workshop, once a month.
