1. Landscapes of the Senses (Across Japan)
From Okinawa, Hokkaido, Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond—these works depict scenes the artist has encountered through travel across Japan, felt through all five senses. Using colored pencils alongside multiple media such as Aqyla and pastels, each piece is drawn by hand.
By giving form to emotions felt not only through sight but also through the skin, the works are elevated into “paintings that feel both nostalgic and entirely new.”

2. Color of Language (AI × Painter Collaboration)
In this series, the tendencies of regional Japanese dialects used as subjects are transformed into color combinations by AI (ChatGPT). The artist then physically mixes the paints and creates abstract works freehand.
Titled “Color of Language,” this series realizes a new form of co-creation between AI and a human artist.

3. Figure Drawings
In addition, this exhibition will feature many figure drawings. Using a six-color ballpoint pen, the artist captures people in a wide range of postures and presences.

This exhibition is about motifs of Jinbocho and Ochanomizu area in Tokyo, made by colored pencil art works. Jinbocho is famous for old bookshops streets. Ochanomizu is a town of culture. At cafe gallery " On a slow boat to...", you can taste delicious coffee with Jazz record played under a big speaker. Artist Furukawa will not stay so much in the cafe through the exhibition but please enjoy afternoon coffee, music, and art at this cafe.

The 8th solo exhibition at gallery "Art Mall" in Tokyo. The art works are mostly sceneries layered by several materials based on the 5 senses I receive from the impressions of the motif, and completes the picture by colored pencil.

The main motif is the scenery of SanFrancisco USA, in addition Japanese views, total more than 20 pictures.
The title of the exhibition is "Life is like a road movie". Maybe the only thing we can do in our life is to just experience. As if watching a movie screen from the seat. Also, ways of receiving art is to feel by your whole body. Therefore, for both the real world and in the picture, how about drive in to experience and feel the joy, the surprise, and emotion through everyday life? That's how I aimed on making the artworks.

Hiroaki Furukawa's artwork is made by combining 6 different art material's steps such as colored pencil, highlighter, aqyla, etc, into 1 picture, and each material's touch refers to　5 Human senses. Even if the technology achieve, I think freehand art that is made by actual feelings of mankind, will have the potential of expressing things that you can't give shapes of words.

At this solo exhibition, I painted sceneries of Yanesen area, a traditional downtown of Tokyo. The sceneries you can find at the exhibition is linked to the real town of Yanesen outside this gallery. Please feel easy to come by and take a look.

Hiroaki Furukawa will hold a new solo exhibition at Sawara Katori city Chiba Pref. Japan.Drawing traditional Japanese town Sawara's scenery and festival. New works 10, Old works 10, together about 20 art pieces are planned to be exhibited.

Combining 6 art materials such as colored pencils , highlighters and other mixed media, drawn by roles of human sense for each layers is the main style. Also as a new challenge, Furukawa tries to draw by wearing off glasses so that you can express not by each parts, but by total structure.

Aiming to the localism of Japan is also the theme which Furukawa is continuing from the last exhibition held this February at Nihonbashi Tokyo. Having relationship with "Small Edo" Sawara for 10 years, Furukawa would like to express the depth of history and the spreading of culture of this interesting place.

This time's solo exhibit's theme is " Another Local ".

Basically, the world you can touch is only which you are surrounded where you stand. Although, imaging one step outside, you can feel close to all the "Another local" places connected under your feet. From drawings according to those images, layering multiple materials as mixed media, I completed the paintings by colored pencil. I will exhibit about 20 colored pencil･ mixed media art works, as well as few acrylic mini sized canvas paintings.

"Yanesen area", a district in east Tokyo, generic name of towns " Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi" . You can see Japanese tasted cultural sceneries from old retrospective architectures and streets, to modern new type spots.

The main visual artpiece of this exhibition is " Old gallery Sichimenzaka tochu", the old place where I did my exhibition 2 years ago at this gallery. The new gallery of this time's exhibit is more near to Sendagi station. This exhibition will be a record of Yanesen area.

My art piece is made by layering 6 materials, each according to the sense felt from the motif.

At this solo exhibition, I'll display the completed work, as well as the NFT works at the OpenSea, which are the step works of each sense and materials.

The meaning to do this is to add human temperatures to digital, as well as to give shape to the step of works, which usually are painted over and won't exist after the artwork is finished.

Besides my artist work, I have been working as a part time worker at several museums in Tokyo, for these 10 years. This time, I drew colored pencil and highlighter pen art works of museums mostly that I've worked in, at the scenery of night time. It will be up to 10 to 12 artworks.It will be a pleasure if people who sees this exhibition will get familiar with museums.

From two artist's vision, colored pencil picture of Hiroaki Furukawa and pen art of Kiichi Shinoduka, we approached on the motif of Sawara's festival.This time Furukawa will exhibit mostly last time exhibition's work, adding some of the new ones. Together it will be about 8 works.
Also on this time, the term will be during the Sawara's autumn festival, on October 13（Fri）,14（Sat）,15（Sun）.You can enjoy seeing the real floats moving, as well as seeing the exhibition during these days.

It has past 2 years since I last held solo exhibition at Sawara, Chiba Pref. For this time I drew all the new works related to the “Sawara Grand Festival” held every summer and autumn. On the opening of the exhibition, October 8th (Sat) and October 9th’(Sun), the term will overlap with the autumn festival, so you can also feel the real performance of the floats as well as the art works. Like always, the artworks are made by colored pencils and highlighters. I tried if I can catch the moment of the numerous stories held in this festival.

This time I got a chance to exhibit at Kameari- Katsushika ward- Tokyo, a traditional downtown area of Tokyo( Which is well known by the comic “Kochi Kame”), and drew the scenery around those areas, and will exhibit them as well as the past works. All of the works are drawn by combining colored pencils and highlighters. I hope I can make pictures that will let audience take a break, like a scenery in a song of music.

It has past 2 years since I last held solo exhibition at Ginza. This time I will exhibit the past 2 year works of Sawara, and works mainly about west coast of USA. As before, the mediums are colored pencils and highlighters. With my works, I will be waiting for your arrival.

It has become 4 times to open a solo exhibition at Sawara, the small Edo town of Chiba Pref. Thanks for all of your support. Drew new works of sceneries around the town, Ono-river, and the festival, by colored pencil and highlighter. This time I made new challenges within this expression.
